View Over a Garden Gate.

Neither of us bending.

If time were concentric
We would never have met.
My annulus and yours
Though adjacent
Would be on separate loops,

However, you did come alongside
For a while,
And we grew together.
That time changed
Like a siblings' outcropping.

And for a short time we laughed.
Together,
We sequenced,
We plodded in youthful truth,
Along a length of our gentler timeline.

Seasoned by creativity
And your intellectual confidence.
I came up short
You left me behind.
I don't recall you leaving, but I did.
