Ribbon an Imposter?

A ribbon can blow in the breeze,

It is not a flag, but a wabooing

Fabric strip,

A distorting gyrating strip,

At best a distraction.

If run up a flagpole

No one would salute it.

Get it fixed to a stick

And it is apparatus.

A ribbon on one end,

A gymnast on the other.

But it will never ever

Have an anthem played to it.

A ribbon can hold together gifts,

But it is not string, but a wabooing

Fabric strip.
